Eckler's Hand Laminated or Press Molded Fiberglass Body Parts

Choose from Hand Laminated or Press Molded to repair your fiberglass to near original condition!

The hand laminating process begins with three mils of gel coat sprayed into a female mold to create a smooth outer surface. Next, resin is painted by hand onto the gel coat followed by the "layering in" of three layers of mat and resin. The mat and resin are carefully rolled out with a hand roller to eliminate air bubbles and to assure uniformity. This process allows the creation of unique parts like the one piece front end which is easier to install than the multi-piece units from the factory. This time honored system combined with the use of only automotive grade resins and gel coat produces a beautifully smooth, strong and easy to sand part.

Eckler's Press molded parts are made with a huge hydraulic press which holds large male and female steel tools (known as the molds). Fiberglass mat and resin is placed between the tools and is pressed together under extremely high pressure and heat. This process allows the production of high volumes of parts that are perfectly uniform in thickness and that are smooth on both sides. Press molded parts do not have a gel coat finish though. Parts can also be manufactured using low pressure press molding. This method takes a precisely cut fiberglass mat and places it into a two-piece closed mold. Resin is injected into the mold and allowed to cure. This method also produces a smooth surface on both sides of the part.

Rick’s Camaros is your one-stop shop for 1967 Camaro parts. The 1967 Camaro was a First Generation F-Body Camaro, spanning from years 1967-1969. 1967 included the Z28 Coupe, Super Sport Convertible and Coupe, Rally Sport Convertible and Coupe, and the Standard Convertible and Coupe. 1967, the Camaro’s first year, was Chevrolet’s response to competing against the Ford Mustang in 1964. Sharing similarities with the Chevy II Nova, the 1967 Camaro featured a unibody structure, combined with a sub-frame supporting the front end, and single-leaf rear springs. Compared to the Mustang, the Camaro had a more streamlined appearance, better noise isolation and ride quality from a partial front frame, and a unitized rear for cost savings and space efficiency. 1967 was the only first generation Camaro to have both rear shock absorbers mounted forward of the rear axle and side vent windows. It also was the only time that Camaros did not have side marker lights. In addition to carrying 1967 Camaro parts, Rick’s Camaros has parts for all Camaro models available. We have all the parts and accessories you need to help restore your 1967 Generation One Camaro, at the best prices! Trust Ricks for all of your restoration and replacement needs for your racer, show car, street rod, or daily driver.
