Rick’s Camaros is your one-stop shop for 1977 Camaro parts. The 1977 Camaro was a Second Generation F-Body Camaro, spanning from years 1970-1981. 1977 included the Rally Sport Coupe, Standard Coupe, Type LT Coupe, and Z28 Coupe. 1977 first saw the return of the Z28 midyear as a separate model, with Borg-Wagner 4-speed manual transmissions, heavy-duty clutches, and dual-resonator exhaust systems. Intermittent wipers became optional for the first time, and all previously optional hidden wipers became standard with all models. Reverse position for the 4-speed manual shift lever was relocated from the far left forward position to the rearward position, making it more natural. Shifting action and ease of service for both 3 and 4-speed manual transmissions was improved by the redesign of their pivot point mechanisms. 1977 was the Camaro’s 10th anniversary, and was also a record-setting year for second gen production of coupes, with Camaro outselling Ford’s Mustang for the very first time.
