RAM CLUTCHES PARTS & ACCESSORIES

Ram Clutches
RAM Clutches’ modest beginnings date back to 1972. From the back room of an OEM clutch rebuilding operation in Canton, OH, John Norcia and his then partner, Ray Bickar, began designing and building better race clutches for a group of local competitors, who were fed up and demoralized with their clutch performance. At the heart of this program lay the radically new RAM three-paddle ‘Cleaning Lady’ clutch disc. Until this time most racing clutches were constructed of organic materials, which provided neither the durability nor the consistency needed for competition. Though Ram forged ahead with a new poly-encapsulated spring design—pioneered and patented in 1978—the three-paddle disc evolved into the current six-paddle design, and continues to be reintroduced by various clutch specialists long after its original introduction in 1976!

Today with the resurgence of factory muscle cars, RAM is heavily involved in providing clutch solutions such as the Street Dual and hydraulics systems that allow for major modifications to the vehicle, yet still provide good street driveability, which is the premise today for all RAM Street-Strip clutch systems.

Rick’s Camaros is your one-stop shop for 1985 Camaro parts. The 1985 Camaro was a Third Generation F-Body Camaro, spanning from years 1982-1992. 1985 included the Sport Coupe, Z28 Sport Coupe, IROC-Z Coupe, and Berlinetta. While the appearance of 1985 models was similar to the previous year, grilles, parking lamps, front fasciae, tail lamps, and air dams were all new. Interior trim and colors were revised for 1985, and ten of twelve exterior colors were changed from the previous year. A split folding rear seat became optional for all models. 1985 also saw the debut of a new IROC Sport Equipment Package, which featured lower trim height and center of gravity, special front struts, springs and jounce bumpers, Delco-Bilstein rear shocks, special rear springs and stabilizer bar, higher-effort steering, increased caster, front frame rail reinforcement, and more. While not a separate model, the IROC was an available option with Z28 models. A five-speed manual transmission became standard on all models, and dual air pickup air cleaners became standard on all engines except base 4-cylinder and the LG4 V8. While undergoing slight changes in the previous year, the Z28’s ride quality was softened significantly in 1985. In addition to carrying 3rd Generation 1985 Camaro parts, Rick’s Camaros has parts for all Camaro models available. We have all the parts and accessories you need to help restore your Generation Three 1985 Camaro, at the best prices! Trust Ricks for all of your restoration and replacement needs for your racer, show car, street rod, or daily driver.
