RAM Clutches’ modest beginnings date back to 1972. From the back room of an OEM clutch rebuilding operation in Canton, OH, John Norcia and his then partner, Ray Bickar, began designing and building better race clutches for a group of local competitors, who were fed up and demoralized with their clutch performance. At the heart of this program lay the radically new RAM three-paddle ‘Cleaning Lady’ clutch disc. Until this time most racing clutches were constructed of organic materials, which provided neither the durability nor the consistency needed for competition. Though Ram forged ahead with a new poly-encapsulated spring design—pioneered and patented in 1978—the three-paddle disc evolved into the current six-paddle design, and continues to be reintroduced by various clutch specialists long after its original introduction in 1976!
Today with the resurgence of factory muscle cars, RAM is heavily involved in providing clutch solutions such as the Street Dual and hydraulics systems that allow for major modifications to the vehicle, yet still provide good street driveability, which is the premise today for all RAM Street-Strip clutch systems.
Rick’s Camaros is your one-stop shop for 1994 Camaro parts. The 1994 Camaro was a 4th Generation Camaro. Spanning from 1993-2002, 4th Generation Camaros used new technology and material to produce plastic body panels over a steel space frame reducing weight and providing a new sleek silhouette. Thanks to a much improved suspension design, 4th Generation Camaro performance increased. Exterior features of 4th Gen Camaros included tunneled headlamps, broad taillights, a low “V” nose and even optional T-tops for the coupe. 1994 Camaro models included Camaro Coupe, Camaro Convertible, Camaro Z28 Coupe and Camaro Z28 Convertible. To improve idle, drivability and fuel economy in the 1994 Camaro, sequential fuel injection was added to the LT1 V8 engine. Included in the 1994 Camaro Z28 was the impressive Computer-Aided Gear Selection (CAGS) which directed the driver from first to fourth gear when certain low-performance criteria were met. 1994 Camaro models featured an improved 4L60E transmission that included electronic controls.
