Without a dust cover inspection plate or with one that is very worn down, your ring gear is exposed to constant dirt and road debris. Over time, debris and other objects can clog up your flywheel and clutch area, causing premature clutch failure. Clutch failure in your F-Body can be reported from a feeling of "slipping," where the clutch does not fully engage or disengage. Further wear on your clutch can cause overheating until the clutch will eventually fail altogether, which can be a dangerous situation.
