  Goes between end, engine bay end of the actual steering column and links the steering column to the steering gearbox.Fits 70- early 78 cars This series started use in early 1970 & went up to early 1978 F body production.. be aware of the upper redesigned uni to steering colomn connection.the bolt (not included but shown for illustration purposes.. - reuse your old genuine one) holding to the steering column shaft that comes from the firewall..in this instance.. goes directly into the SIDE of the steering shaft..NOT in the Center as found on latter mid 1978 production columns... so it's a side mount bolt shaft coupling.. not center mounted as found in later mid ' 78 plus production to 1981 models.Note the top & bottom bolts are for illustration purpose only.. reuse your original bolt hardware.This Shaft is telescopic - per OEM design....... as often requested... here's the specific details are:Length from bolt hole center to center is 16.75 inches / 42.5 cm...and that is extendable to at least 19.25 inches / 49.5 cm.Note the top mount hole is in the SIDE.. of the shaft, not Center mounted as were the later 1978 models Camaro & Firebird Trans Am.We have the later models.. look up AUS7881 r series .. the 1982-92 series is also available # AUS966.This will fit 1970 to early 1978 ONLY F bodies.
