When driving in autocross, road racing or off-road competitions, engine braking is a necessity when slowing down to enter turns. This new transmission offers crucial engine-braking capability in first, second and third gear when the shifter is placed in the drive or third-gear position. Upshifting and downshifting can be controlled with the optional paddle shifter and EZ-TCU set in manual mode. When the shifter is placed in the overdrive position the transmission will operate without engine braking enabled.
TCI EZ-TCU Transmission Controller is not compatible with GM ECM • Transmission will be controlled in a "standalone" form • OE ECM must be "tuned" to allow for separate standalone control of transmission
